Here are a few images from another recent session. We did some images in the house with the family playing pool before heading out the river for some outdoor shots to take advantage of the early snow this year.
There are many ways to use the photos from your session. One idea is using the images for Christmas cards. In this case, Carol wanted a custom designed card to share with friends and family. The cards are press printed on a great quality paper and provide something a little different from the big box store templates you usually see around Christmas.
Here's what we ended up with for the Patterson family Christmas Card. It's a finished size of 5x7".
I absolutely love shooting with snow on the ground and/or in the air! If you can put up with cold fingers, you get the best light. It's like having light relectors all around to bounce the light around. Even in the forest, it's magical and sparkly.
Here's some photos from the first snow session of the season. We had a great time and I really struggled to narrow down the photos from this session. The colours, contrast and lighting have all made me very happy. Danielle's dark brown sweater worked absolutely perfect with Brody's colouring.
It's often hard to visualize how images will look framed and arranged on a wall - and sometimes even harder to pick which images to use.
One way I can help is by showing what some of your images would look like on a wall, like in the sample shown below. In this case, Carole wanted to have 3 11x14" photos for a wall in her home but wasn't sure which to images to pick or how to arrange them. Working together, this is what we came up with.
Here's another way to display your photos. I like how all the images are casually displayed and there's a mix of sizes and shapes. In this case, B&W images were the perfect choice.

One of my favourite parts about doing photo sessions is hearing what people have to say when they see their pictures. It's this kind of feedback that puts a smile on my face and makes me love my job even more.
